saa7134 0.1.7 and modprobe parameters

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hi, yet another question :) Might as well get them all over with now.

I'm playing around with the saa7134 0.1.7 drivers (dated 20020510) - how
do I use insmod/modprobe with the option to set the card type?

I'm using a FlyVideo 3000FM with a PAL tuner - what card type(s) should I
try? I've noticed CARDLIST and saa7134-cards.c but I'm not sure how either
of these give clues to the modprobe argument.

At the moment, doing a simple modprobe saa7134 returns:

/lib/modules/2.4.19-pre8/kernel/drivers/media/video/saa7134.o:
init_module: No such device
Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters,
including invalid IO or IRQ parameters
/lib/modules/2.4.19-pre8/kernel/drivers/media/video/saa7134.o: insmod
/lib/modules/2.4.19-pre8/kernel/drivers/media/video/saa7134.o failed
/lib/modules/2.4.19-pre8/kernel/drivers/media/video/saa7134.o: insmod
saa7134 failed

I've scoured the video4linux mailing list archives but all I can say is,
I'm a bit lost - there's a lot of discussion going on about different
versions of the FlyVideo3000 and I'm not sure where mine fits in.

Cheers,

David.
