Video capture question.

Hello,
I am in the process of choosing a video capture card for use on Linux
and I can't seem to find all the information I need. So here is my
question: What video capture card will work the best (that means a good
picture quality and not too much trouble to configure)on a 2.4.17
kernel? The card need to be able to display video in a 800x600
resolution and it must support VBI (mainly North America close caption)
and on screen display.

So what card and driver would you advise me to try. (I don't mind
applying a few kernel patches)

Thank's for your help.
