Re: TV Tuner cards with component video

The board CX23880-490 EVK from Conexant has composite and S-video in. It is meant for HDTV reception, so the in built tuner is for terrestrial (and cable) based ATSC broadcasts only. The CX23880 is the next generation of bt878, and also has a broadcast audio decoder function.

No Linux driver for it yet, but we are developing one, targeted for completion in June.

Hi,

I am looking for a TV tuner card supported by Linux that has RGB component
video in for input from scart. I'm looking to take input from a cable
set-top box and in my experience with TV composite and S-Video just don't
cut it quality wise. I've looked at the major manufacturers (Pinnacle,
Hauppage etc.) and trawled Google but cannot find anything suitable. Does
anyone know of a card that fits my requirements? Oh, it must work with PAL
also.

Thanks in anticipation.

Robin
