HI!

I am completely lost. I am new to V4L2 (and linux OS).
I am trying to acquire video from an ultrasound machine so
that I can capture the image on my PC that is running
linux (SuSE 7.3).

These are my specs:

OS: SuSe 7.3
kernal: ver 2.4.9
XFree86: ver 4.1.0
graphics card: ATI XPERT 99 16 MB AGP

(1) I've compiled km (obtained from the GATOS project),
(2) I think that I've installed km properly (how would I know?).
(3) I've installed the ATI drivers (as was described by GATOS).
(4) I 've upgraded to XFree86 4.1.0.
(5) I've installed VideodevX
(5) I've compiled and run AVview

I get no video image on my pc.
Am I installing the data in the wrong order.
Can you please tell me what to do, step by step?
Thanks a bunch.

Also, did I have to upgrade to V4L2 in order to acquire video on my
linux pc?
Would the orginal V4L API that comes with the linux OS have been
sufficient?

Thanks.
