The reason is that it requires additional initialization (by the kfir
driver) and that driver needs a way to identify a real pvr card.
eg.
#define BTTV_HAUPPAUGEPVR 0x4d
Well, I know it's not the "right" way,
but if you know you only have a PVR,
you can just change one line in the kfir
driver code to go ahead and initialize
it anyway.
