IBM cameras are supported by a reverse-engineered driver. It is far from
perfect, but works for many people. Most of IBM cameras are supported,
but not all. The driver is included in the Linux kernel for about 2
years already. See http://www.linux-usb.org/ibmcam/ for more.

That would be driver for Windows, right?

The camera sends data in a mix of YCrCb and RGB encodings, depending on
configuration (image size). The driver outputs BGR24. It all should be
transparent to the user.

IBM cameras are relatively cheap and not of a great quality. They yield
quite a low frame rate, and the reverse-engineered driver does not know
how to deal with compressed streams (which are an option in some
cameras).
