ATI All-In-Wonder V4L support

Hi, I was wondering if anyone has had any success in setting up the ATI
All-In-Wonder (128 pro) working as a V4L device.
I am aware of the GATOS project, but unfortuantely gatos is not working
very well for me. I've installed the ati.2 drivers, and tried avview,
but xawtv seemed to work better. I also didn't like the fact that avview
requires that I use ALSA for sound, which won't compile on my machine...
For some reason I'm able to use xawtv just fine, and it's not using any
video devices in /dev.. (lsof | grep xawtv)..
The main reason I'm asking this is that I want to use vcr
(http://www.stack.nl/~brama/vcr) to record movies because it looks like
the only one that can do Divx encoding. And VCR must use a video4linux
grabber device for capture.
If anyone has information on the ATI All-In-Wonder that doesn't pertain
to Gatos, I would appreciate it..
