describing the procedure for converting a
MPEG Audio / Video Elementry stream into
a Packetized Elementry Stream.

Thanks.

Subject: API Lack ?

Time ago I made a driver for my radio card (still not included in kernel for
notime...)
My radio have a strange feature, which I have called "automatic scan". To
scan for radio frequency you say to card: scan from current frequency below
(or above). Then you should poll card until card found frequency itself (so
you can read frequency and other stuff).
When I try to do a scan frequency with my tuner program the program scan all
frequency but It stop only returning to same frequency (card do not provide
a signal test, as saw you can check signal only scanning frequency). I tried
to think a method to read signal using scanning (some strange e,ulation) but
seem to be no solution (when scan you make noise on radio.. not very good,
program read signal with other information not only for scanning test)

>From doc:
  Signal strength if known
And if unknown ? -1? How is the correct range of this member? I think card
should communicate the correct maximun signal (in card specific unit). So
card without signal support should return a 0 as maximun signal and digital
signal card (noise or signal) should return 1.
