Advice on tuner settings for MM100PCTV (UK/PAL)

Hello all,
Sorry to come to this list with a configuration question but....

SMP 233mhz mmx * 2, 224mb, Voodoo3 2000 PCI, RedHat 7.2,. The TV card is a
MM100PCTV, it has a BT848 chip, with a TDA9800T, TDA5737M and TSA5522T inside
the tuner can. I am using the standard v4l setup from RH7.2: bttv 0.7.72
and xawtv 3.54. Module parameters are card=60, tuner=24.

The problem is: I cant get a colour TV signal. The compostive video input is
fine, a nice colour picture. With the tuner input, I can tune to all the UK
stations but they are all in black and white with fairly dodgy picture
quality. There are generally 7 vertical lines in the picture, less noticable
when the reception is good (see http://www.btinternet.com/~jumphog/snap1.jpg
& http://www.btinternet.com/~jumphog/snap2.jpg ). The audio seems pretty
good, but it can sometimes drift off slightly and have a bit of a high
frequency ringing type effect.
I have tried most of the tuner options, and the phillips or temic ones seem
to work best, the others dont get any stations. Setting xawtv to PAL gives a
viewable picture, (as you'd expect) the other standards dont.

If anyone could suggest what would be the best way of getting this working Id
be very grateful,

Thanks,
DP
