Help with IBM ultracam, please

Hello,

I haven't heard anything from the author of the driver for this cam, so I'm having to continue on my own.

I'm getting some symptoms that either are a problem with v4l, or at least are reported via v4l and I need help gaining at least some initial understanding of what is going wrong.

Here is some output:

bret@ganesha:~> v4l-conf
v4l-conf: using X11 display :0.0
dga: version 2.0
mode: 1024x768, depth=24, bpp=32, bpl=4096, base=0xf0000000
can't open /dev/video0: Bad address

What might this mean? Where should I start looking? Here are the devices:

bret@ganesha:~> ls -l /dev/video*
lrwxrwxrwx    1 root     video           6 Feb 19 06:22 /dev/video -> video0
crw------- 1 bret users 81, 0 Sep 24 13:55 /dev/video0
crw------- 1 bret users 81, 1 Sep 24 13:55 /dev/video1
crw------- 1 bret users 81, 2 Sep 24 13:55 /dev/video2
crw------- 1 bret users 81, 3 Sep 24 13:55 /dev/video3
bret@ganesha:~>

Can anyone give me some understanding of what is happening (or not)?

Thanks in advance,
Bret
