I have the Pinnacle PCTV PRO. Are you talking about still capture or motion capture? For me xawtv is fine if I don't specify the -noxv option, but then I can't save images. If I don't specify -noxv I can capture but either way it captures both fields (interplaced in one frame). Zapping will capture stills without being interlaced. I have a libmpeg.zapping.so in the plugin directory, but I can't seem to figure out how to use it. (any ideas?) I've used mp1e with great success for capturing movies. Even my k6-2 300MHz is fast enough to mpeg encode in realtime. I'm running 2.4.16 with v4l that came with the kernel.
