Color System, bt878

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

I've got a "Video Shuttle II" card which has a bt878 chipset. In
windows, using card's program and setting the color system to PAL I can
get a color video out of my card but in linux there is no color! ie I've
got only grayscale video.

I've tried all possible norms (ie 0..7). One of them gave me a color
video that was not OK--the picture was somehow shuffled! Others gave me
grayscale video.

In linux I checked this in both xawtv and a simple program I had written
myself. (I've used VIDIOCSYNC and VIDIOCMCAPTURE ioctls)

Would you please tell me how to get a color video in linux.

Hardware: AMD Duron 750MHz on GA7IXE4 Motherboard, 320MB RAM.
Software: MS Windows 2000 Proffessional, Red Hat Linux 7.2

I use an ordinary Sony HandyCam as the video source. (into Composite1)
The resolution I tried to capture was 640x480x24b.

Concretely Yours,
MH++
