Why does v4lctl need X?

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hello Gerd Fan Club,

I know all about xhost +, but does anybody know why v4lctl needs to
contact a running X server?

# v4lctl setstation fox
Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server
Xlib: Client is not authorized to connect to Server

Again, I know how to fix it with xhost +localhost, but I'm curious (also,
I can't xhost +localhost from a ssh'd, ssu'd session for some reason).

Thanks gang,
