ATI Tv-Wonder and S-Video

I just got an ATI TV-Wonder, and got the TV tuner, composite video
and audio inputs to work, but the S-Video input is not working. I
get a blue screen when switching to the S-Video input in xawtv. I
confirmed the cable and DVD player (the composite/S-Video source)
are both functional, so there must be something wrong with the
card's configuration.

I tried using v4l2 as well, but that only messed up the composite
input signal as well :-(

Has anyone else had success doing this, or is it unsupported? The
card is BT878-based and my 15 minutes of research seem to indicate
that that chipset has integrated S-Video support, meaning it ought to
work and isn't some proprietary ATI thing.

By the way, I suspect this is a new revision of the card since the
manual and website picture a slightly different card; this model
only has the CATV TV-in, the 1/4" audio out, and a round 8-pin
connector for a dongle which has the composite audio and video
inputs as well as the S-Video input on it (the website pictures 2
1/4" plugs and a composite video input right on the board, and what
looks like an S-Video connector). The card also lacks the standard
black snap-in CDROM audio connectors and has only the smaller,
vertical white connectors. It's also smaller, saving space by
printing the chips on both sides of the board. In case this really
is different, here's an lspci -vv of it:
