I just got an ATI TV-Wonder, and got the TV tuner, composite video and audio inputs to work, but the S-Video input is not working. I get a blue screen when switching to the S-Video input in xawtv. I confirmed the cable and DVD player (the composite/S-Video source) are both functional, so there must be something wrong with the card's configuration. I tried using v4l2 as well, but that only messed up the composite input signal as well :-( Has anyone else had success doing this, or is it unsupported? The card is BT878-based and my 15 minutes of research seem to indicate that that chipset has integrated S-Video support, meaning it ought to work and isn't some proprietary ATI thing. By the way, I suspect this is a new revision of the card since the manual and website picture a slightly different card; this model only has the CATV TV-in, the 1/4" audio out, and a round 8-pin connector for a dongle which has the composite audio and video inputs as well as the S-Video input on it (the website pictures 2 1/4" plugs and a composite video input right on the board, and what looks like an S-Video connector). The card also lacks the standard black snap-in CDROM audio connectors and has only the smaller, vertical white connectors. It's also smaller, saving space by printing the chips on both sides of the board. In case this really is different, here's an lspci -vv of it: 00:0a.0 Multimedia video controller: Brooktree Corporation Bt878 (rev 11) Subsystem: ATI Technologies Inc: Unknown device 0001 Control: I/O- Mem+ BusMaster+ SpecCycle- MemWINV- VGASnoop- ParErr- Stepping- SERR- FastB2B- Status: Cap+ 66Mhz- UDF- FastB2B+ ParErr- DEVSEL=medium >TAbort- <TAbort- <MAbort- >SERR- <PERR- Latency: 64 (4000ns min, 10000ns max) Interrupt: pin A routed to IRQ 5 Region 0: Memory at e4022000 (32-bit, prefetchable) [size=4K] Capabilities: [44] Vital Product Data Capabilities: [4c] Power Management version 2 Flags: PMEClk- DSI+ D1- D2- AuxCurrent=0mA PME(D0-,D1-,D2-,D3hot-,D3cold-) Status: D0 PME-Enable- DSel=0 DScale=0 PME- 00:0a.1 Multimedia controller: Brooktree Corporation Bt878 (rev 11) Subsystem: ATI Technologies Inc: Unknown device 0001 Control: I/O- Mem+ BusMaster+ SpecCycle- MemWINV- VGASnoop- ParErr- Stepping- SERR- FastB2B- Status: Cap+ 66Mhz- UDF- FastB2B+ ParErr- DEVSEL=medium >TAbort- <TAbort- <MAbort- >SERR- <PERR- Latency: 64 (1000ns min, 63750ns max) Interrupt: pin A routed to IRQ 5 Region 0: Memory at e4023000 (32-bit, prefetchable) [size=4K] Capabilities: [44] Vital Product Data Capabilities: [4c] Power Management version 2 Flags: PMEClk- DSI+ D1- D2- AuxCurrent=0mA PME(D0-,D1-,D2-,D3hot-,D3cold-) Status: D0 PME-Enable- DSel=0 DScale=0 PME- Hopefully this will help. -- "Peace will come With tranquility and splendor on the wheels of fire But will offer no reward when her false idols fall And cruel death surrenders with its pale ghost retreating Between the King and the Queen of Swords." -- Bob Dylan, "Changing Of The Guards"
