Re: se401, USB "no such device" error

Mark:

Your "caminfo" link did the trick. I followed the links to
http://www.linux-usb.org, specifically the USB-HOWTO and discovered
that I needed the "usb-uhci" loaded too, As soon as it was
"modprobe'd", the camera light blinked and a check of
"/var/log/messages" revealled that the camera was alive and well:

  Jan 1 10:21:47 ve6cta kernel: Manufacturer: KTG
  Jan 1 10:21:47 ve6cta kernel: Product: VideoCAM
  Jan 1 10:21:47 ve6cta kernel: se401.c: SE401 camera found:
  	Kensington VideoCAM 67016
  Jan 1 10:21:47 ve6cta kernel: se401.c: firmware version: 46
  Jan 1 10:21:47 ve6cta kernel: se401.c: ExtraFeatures: 0 Sizes:
  	160x120 200x152 176x144 320x240 352x288 400x300 640x480 704x576 800x600
  Jan 1 10:21:47 ve6cta kernel: se401.c: registered new video device: video0

Thanks very much for the help. For the benefit of any other readers
having similar problems, I recommend reading the "gqcam" INSTALL file,
and also the USB-HOWTO. It seems that all the necessary information
is available, its just a matter of digging deep enough.

I sincerely appreciate your help. I'm looking forward to lots of
experimenting with this "gadget".

Regards, and I hope that you have a very pleasant and rewarding New
Year.
