I like to see them succeed, because I'm not ready to retire, and I'd rather not work with Windoze the rest of my career. The more companies that suceed with a linux-based business plan, the more I have to point to when I encourage the companies I work for to use OpenSource technology. But perhaps my point of view is unusual --- I would also be perfectly happy and content to pay TIVO a reasonable fee to use and modify their source code, if such a product was availiable from them, and if I were permitted to provide patches to other users who had also paid for their product. To me, that IS free as in speech. If you wanna say what you wanna say over the radio, you better plan on paying somebody. But we probably oughta take this thread to private mail, 'cause we've drifted way off topic. Sorry guys.
