I'm having some trouble trying to get a webcam working. It is a

It works for me on kernel 2.4.14 with no module options. It did *not*
work on 2.4.8 or so--the pwc module included with the kernel at that
time didn't recognize the particular USB identifier for the QuickCam 3000.
Be aware that you probably won't be able to get the higher resolutions
out of the camera unless you also insmod the pwcx.o module. This module
is supplied binary only, unfortunately. For this reason, even though
the picture quality from the QuickCam 3000 is among the best of the USB
cameras I've used under Linux, I'd recommend an ov511 based camera like
the Creative WebCam Plus since it is all open source, with a good
quality picture at the same resolution (640x480).
