Hauppauge B878 with Red Hat 7.1...

I recently installed Red Hat 7.1.  I have a Hauppauge WinTV card that shows up to my system (dmesg output) as a "B878".  This card works fine when I am booted up into Windows.  I have always had issues getting it to work right with Linux.  Does anyone have a proven configuration for getting RedHat 7.1 to work with a B878 card?  I have the generic 2.4 kernel that comes with 7.1, and have enabled tuner.o and bttv.o into the kernel (per the documentation that I found on Hauppauge's web-site... I was unsure what to do with i2c, since the 7.1 image comes with a "i2c_old.o and another i2c_??.o).  I downloaded / installed the version of xawtv and kwintv that is on Red Hat's ftp site under the 7.1 tree.  I am getting a very fuzzy / broken (multiplev images) picture when I try to bring up the application.  I am pretty much a novice to this WinTV on Linux stuff, and although I have tried all of them, what settings should I use for U.S. (PAL, vs. NTSC vs. ??).  Is there a FAQ or something I can refer to in trying to set this up?
