Ok, I was not correct when I said that they don't have rate control features
... They do have rate control.
I managed to test their codec against DivX 4.0. Quality is about the same or
sometimes
a little worse as DivX 4.0 at the same bitrate with maximum picture
postprocessing level,
encoder is roughly 4 times slower than DivX 4.0 ( but I think that it's
faster than OpenDivX ),
and decoder is somewhat slower ( also compared to DivX 4.0 w/max
postprocessing ). It can
become a really good codec if open-source community spends enough time on
its optimization.

September. There is work they have to do as you'd expect.
