I get corrupted AVI files, where the video-stream can't be decoded.

MPlayer detects the video codec:
[divxds] drv:4 (DivX ;-) (MS MPEG-4 v3))
Loading DLL: /usr/lib/win32/divx_c32.ax  OK

But MPlayers VideoDecoder complains:
Error putting data into input pin ffffff9c

I also tried some Windows Players, which decode only flashing colors
but nothing like the expected result. The audio stream works,
so the tuner is working correctly during recording.

My DIVX4rec is linked against:
        libm.so.6 => /lib/libm.so.6 (0x40025000)
        libdivxencore.so => /usr/local/lib/libdivxencore.so (0x40047000)
        libpthread.so.0 => /lib/libpthread.so.0 (0x40071000)
        libc.so.6 => /lib/libc.so.6 (0x40087000)
        /lib/ld-linux.so.2 => /lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0x40000000)

But I wonder if libdivxencore.so is correct. I got mine from
http://download2.projectmayo.com/dnload/divx4linux/divx4linux-20010718.zip
which is a binary distribution, because I have libtool problems and
can't compile
cvs -d:pserver:anonymous@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx:/home/cvsroot co divx4linux

Thanks for your help.

The version of divx4linux I am using is the one linked from http://avifile.sf.net/. Make sure that you build a recent mplayer, with divx4linux support enabled. If mplayer insists on using the MS-codec, you should edit ~/.mplayed/codecs.conf, so that divx4linux is explicitly used for DIV5 compression.
