I think I have narrowed down the problem to the rack-mount case I was using. I think it has some ground issues, or a bad power supply. (I can't get a good capture with an un-modified card) I am trying my little project over again on a new machine. I fear I might have accidentally fried my bttv, but I will see in the next day or so. I will post my progress again on this list when I am done. BTW: I put up a picture of my first try at http://toonarchive.com/videoout --Tom ----- Original Message ----- From: "Hakan Lennestal" <Hakan.Lennestal@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <video4linux-list@xxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, May 16, 2001 12:10 AM Subject: Re: Getting composite out on a bt848 > In message <Pine.LNX.4.21.0105152226040.25468-100000@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> > , Steve Tell writes: > > > Cheaper but with some quality sacrifice: > > - modulate the video onto RF (Channel 3 or a cable channel), and use a tuner. > > Or if the ground loop is caused by a central antenna/cable connection then try to > use a couple of small capacistors (a couple of houndred pF to a couple of nF) in > series with both the signal and ground lead in the antenna connector. > Realy low-cost if it works and no quality degradation. > > /Håkan > > > --------------------------------------- > > > > _______________________________________________ > Video4linux-list mailing list > Video4linux-list@xxxxxxxxxx > https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/video4linux-list >
