Hi there, I just bought a AVerMedia TV98 Stereo, and all seems to be working fine, but I still have some doubts. I'm using the v4l driver from 2.4.3 kernel, and I am in Brazil (PAL-M) (60Hz, PAL color, NTSC resolution, us broadcast frequency, I think). When I try setting the input to the Composite1 port (feed the VCR sinal in), the color is very strong (good), but if I use the turner, the colors are very weak (but the colors are OK, only weak). It has a Philips PAL turner. Can I set the turner to output more color? Even if I put the color in the maximum in xawtv it is still weak. Also, it is a Stereo card, but insmoding the msp3400 module had no effect so I believe the stereo audio is not supported. Even so, when I tune a channel that I know that has stereo/sap audio, I only hear the sap audio (unless I remove the antenna, adding noise and making the sap unavailable). Shouldn't this only happen if I was using the stereo chip? (isn't sap provided together with stereo?) Also, the overlay option does not work. I guess this is a question to the xfree86 lists, but I can't access the xfree86.org site in the last days (document contains no data, or dns errors). I'm using Xfree 4.0.1, with the s3virge driver (Diamond Stealth 3D 3000), and the window stays black. In 3.3.6, it shows stuff but not correctly. Can someone give me any tips on any of the subjects? I am including some relevand information from dmesg.
