However, to get reasonable results you'd really want to create a stream intended for editting (e.g. closed GOP's very conservative buffering strategy, uniform power-of-two DCT coefficient quantisation) if you wanted to do this. Also, avoid audio glitches would be a real pain unless you recorded audio uncompressed (this *is* legit in MPEG). Andrew
