TEMIC has 2 different tuner series: - Tuner=8: Temic NTSC (4036 FY5) is Philips compatible (i.e. compatible to type=2) - Tuner=6: Temic NTSC (4032 FY5) is not The difference between 2 vs. 8 are (band) switch over frequencies: 451 vs. 463 MHz, this should only matter if you tune these frequencies. I don't know how strict the specifications from datasheets must be taken, I think it won't harm much in this case. Still open: Why does autodetect pick tuner=5 (i.e. PAL) as Zot wrote, perhaps he has another card. Zot do you live in PAL area? PAL (tuner=5) and NTSC (tuner=2) would both tune fine, only difference would be the IF (intermediate frequency) delta: your channels would be 6.85 MHz offset ! -- Gunther
