Problem converting avi with avi2divx

Having problems converting an avi produced by streamer(xawtv_3.30).
First here are
the commands to produce the avi:

streamer -o test.avi -r 30 -t 900 -f mjpeg -c /dev/video0 -n ntsc -i 1
or this:
streamer -o test.avi -r 30 -t 900 -f rgb15 -c /dev/video0 -n ntsc -i 1

produces "test.avi"
then convert with this:

avi2divx test.avi new.avi
seg faults  with this output below on (mjpeg) setting:

seg faults  with this output below on (rgb15) setting:

Any ideas, all are welcome.

RedHat 6.2(2.2.14-5.0 SMP)
bttv 0.7.54
latest bttv2
avifile-0.53.4
x2divx-0.7a
