kwintv won't work because you don't have KDE completely installed, or the wrong version. GnomeTV seems to be crashing your Gnome panel, or net loading it properly, or something to a similar effect. Try 'gnometv -a' to get it to not use the panel. (I'm not sure if that's the argument for gnometv, check that with gnometv -h first!)
