mp1e under BSD

I am looking for a tool that I can use under NetBSD to capture streaming
video and audio via the command-line (non-X).

I can use FXTV 1.02 (TV display for Brooktree 848 compatible TV cards) to
watch video. (My sound is from a VCR audio output into my sound card.)

I am looking at mp1e. I have version 1.7.

Does anyone know of an official mp1e website?

It has a requirement: "A video capture board with a V4L or V4L2 compliant
driver". Plus it says it requires Linux (note that I have Linux
compatibility with my NetBSD).

When I run gmake it gives a warning:
 V4L2 is not present on your system. The V4L interface implemented
 in this program may work with the BTTV driver only and you will
 miss certain features. Consider migrating to V4L2, home page
 "http://millennium.diads.com/bdirks/v4l2.htm";

Plus it can't find: pthread.h, asm/types.h, linux/videodev.h and
linux/soundcard.h.

Any ideas on what I can do?
Or does anyone know of any similar tools?

Thanks,
