Supra Video Kit and 2.4.0 kernel lockup

Hello,

System:
	Abit SE6 MB
	Matrox G400 MAX
Supra Video Kit (same card as USR Big Picture, BT848)
X4.0.1 (but will do this without X running)

Problem:
This card works great and without fuss with 2.2.17 kernel version. It
locks up the computer hard with 2.4.0 (or any 2.4) kernel. The driver
compiles and is loaded correctly. The computer is fine till you actually
try to access the card. For example I can boot, load all the needed
modules, and the computer is fine. Start something like xawtv and the
program cannot even print all of it's startup info before the system is
locked and needing a 'reset'. This also happens with webcam and the bttv
util test script.

While testing with 2.4.0test9 about a month back I sometimes got the card
to work for a couple seconds to five minutes. Almost destroyed my system
from all the crashes and was not going to do that many boots this time.

My guess is this happened when the driver was rewritten to use the I2C
interface. Sadly my eyes start rolling to the back of my head when trying
to figure out what could be occurring from looking at the code. I am
could use some assistance on where to go from here to try and track down
what exactly is happening.

Thank you for your time
