[V4L] miro VIDEO PCTV pro

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hi,

I'm trying to use a miro VIDEO PCTV pro. The picture's no problem, but the
sound isn't working.

I use SuSE Linux 7.0 on a Gigabyte GA-7ZX board with a Athlon 800, kernel
2.2.16, bttv 0.7.35.

The card uses the bt848A, a Temic PAL tuner and a MSP3410C-E27 as sound chip
(see later).

The sound configuration is ok (OSS/Linux, the commercial one). The input of the
soundcard (on-board ES1371) works and is loud enough on the mixer (tested with
CD). There is a bit of noise hearable if I switch channels. The first problem
seems to be that the auto configuration of the MSP3410 doesn't work (see
below: current mode: unknown (0x0080)). If I change the auto detect default in
msp3400.c to e.g. mode 3 (which should be the correct one), I hear something
which seems to correlate with the TV program, but is only very silent noise. If
I now change msp3400.c back to auto detection, it works correctly (but there
still is no usable sound).

The modules are configured as follows:

-----------------------------------------------------------
options bttv pll=2 radio=1 card=11
options tuner type=0
# options msp3400 once=1 simple=1 debug=2
options msp3400 once=0 debug=1
post-install bttv /sbin/modprobe "-k" tuner; \
                  /sbin/modprobe "-k" msp3400
-----------------------------------------------------------

On startup there are the following kernel messages:

If someone could give me a hint where I can search on I would be very grateful.
