Hi, I'm working for the University of Milan doing a videoconferencing software with linux. Right now I don't do any kind of compression on the visual side, sending the whole frame across the LAN. While it works pretty well for high-bandwidth connections (50Mb/s) it's obviously nonsense for low-bandwidth ones(2Mbs). Is there any hardware that does JPG compression of each frame, supported by V4L? Where can I find information about it? Ciao, Giulio
