yeah ! as i indicated, i already have video devices !
i followed the BTTV-mini-howto and got (i think) 8 devices, but still got
the same error...
i carried my pc to my working-place to get net-coonection and tried to
install and upgrade everything that has to do with video and comes with
Debian/potato. --> now i have 64 (!) video devices, but still there is the
same error ("/dev/video : No such device"); the /dev/video file is a
symbolic link to /dev/video0; i tried to relink to severaly other devices
(/dev/video1
...)
but with not much success

so that's not really my problem

i'll try to do this, but since xf4.0.1 is not yet supported officially by
Debian (i think, it won't make the race to the final potato release) i
have to compile it myself and this makes some trouble up till now (but it
was the same with xf4.0.0 and i went beyond it)
