I tried the 13 steps you outlined, but I've noticed some problems with my dmesg output (step 11):

It seems to be missing the "tda9887: chip found @ 0x96" line, as well as i2c finding MSP34xx...

I'm running a Pinnacle PCTV (that's what it says on the box), but it's identified as the same as your card, so I don't know what's going on there...

Can anyone help? I'm running a Gentoo 1.4 system, with the gentoo-dev-sources installed (2.6.0 with some patches).
