I use one of those. I am not very good with linux yet though. The only thing I can tell you is that when I went from bttv 0.7 to 0.9 I had to put it in grab mode instead of overlay. I also noticed it will not record video anymore, just locks. Dont know why. Maybe someone else can shed some light on it.
