A little OT: PCI-Bus

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hi,

my question is just a little out of topic, but anyway of interest. I 'm
having a CX23880 card (TV-card) on a Via Chipset (Northbridge is
VT8601A) and tried to do a read() call on the device, but the system
freezes totally -until you hot-unplug the card. The same error doesn't
occur if you use the same card with an PIII Intel System.

Analyzing the signals by oscilloscope, many STOP# signals can be seen.
As I have just a beginners' knowledge about PCI-bus, I just have
several questions about it:
1. Does the TV-Card become PCI Bus Master ?
2. What can be the reasons of this freeze ?

TIA,

Franz
