I have tried a great many module load options and permutations for bttv.
The result is that when running xawtv or tvtime I get a blue screen
and indicator 'No signal' (tvtime). Between all of the permutations
I've tried there's not much difference descernable between the subsequent
behaviour and outout of xawtv / tvtime. There /is/ some difference when
I run the program 'radio' from the xawtv package, i.e. a kernel message
with some permutations that tells me there's `no radio tuning'.

Let me therefore give three permutations that I've tried, with the
corresponding kernel messages, and the kernel messages I get when running
'radio':

I have run a great number tests with other tuner types and card id's
than mentioned here, all unsuccesfully wrt. to xawtv/radio giving me
anything else than blue screen/static.

On all these tests lsmod looked like this:
lsmod:
tda9887 8196 0
tvaudio 23180 0
msp3400 25636 0
bttv 147692 0
video_buf 23300 1 bttv
v4l2_common 7296 1 bttv
btcx_risc 5896 1 bttv
videodev 10752 1 bttv
i2c_piix4 8588 0
i2c_algo_bit 11144 1 bttv
i2c_core 26248 7 tuner,tda9887,tvaudio,msp3400,bttv,i2c_piix4,i2c_algo_bit

Removing tvaudio from the modules directory and running tests didn't
make any difference. Btw. it occured to me also that any load options
I give in /etc/modprobe.conf for module tda9887 don't seem to be
passed on when that module is autoloaded.

Is there anything I can do to help to get this baby working? I'll be
glad to provide additional info.

Thanks.
brigitte
