| There may be one of two situations. First, you have an "old" version of
| vl4ctl (xawtv package) that uses obsolete ioctl/cid numbers. Get and

3.90, by the way. Which I thought was pretty recent.

| compile a new version of xawtv. Second, you have a new version of v4lctl
| and still it complains. That is "normal", it complains but after that it
| actually works (please check). I think it tries both old and new cid
| values and simply perror()s when it fails.

Hmm, I've now downloaded the current snapshot for xawtv and built it. It
actually seems to be less effective (e.g. 'list' no longer works).

One more bit of data, if I switch to using the radio, the 3.90 v4ctl still
complains, but manages to mute the card (and won't un-mute it).

| BTW having a Cinergy card, do you have synchronisation issues like
| discussed on the list here?

I haven't noticed it. If I use sox to read from dsp2 to dsp, there is a
slight echo between the data version and the line version, but I suppose
that is to be expected and it's barely perceptible.
