Some of them are supported, but not all (look for "pwc" on the web). It is very unlikely that the camera supports this resolution. Probably you have been fooled by the marketing-machine. The highest resolution of a Philips webcam I've seen is 640x480 (which is not bad by the way). If you have hardware support installed, you can use xawtv to watch the webcam, use v4lctl to take a snapshot, etc.
