Sorry. I'm already quite busy with developing the v4l2 import module for
transcode.

Yes, little-compressed data can hit the maximum sustained throughput for
a harddisk easily. If you run into this, you might try mjpeg as encoder,
it's fast and compresses quite good without too much quality loss.
