xawtv works in overlay, not in grabdisplay mode

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hello,

I have been working on install MythTV for a couple months now, and must seek
outside help :(
I am using Debian Linux 3.0r1 on an Athlon XP 2200+ with 512MB RAM.
I have a Mercury SAA7130 based capture card, with onboard FM radio and
remote.
Mostly Debian packages, but source installs of MythTV 0.12, lame, xmltv,
expat, alsa, saa7134 and patched linux kernel.
I'm using KDE 3.1.4 as my window manager. GeForce 420 MX using latest nVIDIA
drivers from their website.

I can load xawtv just fine in overlay mode, but when I switch to grabdisplay
mode, the screen is just black.
Also, when I load MythTV (front and back), everything works fine until I
press 'Watch Live TV', and everything goes black.

Note the error:

# v4l-conf
v4l-conf: using X11 display :0
dga: version 2.0
mode: 640x480, depth=24, bpp=32, bpl=2560, base=0xe4000000
/dev/video0 [v4l2]: ioctl VIDIOC_QUERYCAP: Invalid argument
/dev/video0 [v4l]: configuration done

I've attached lots of debugging data, but don't know if it'll show up on the
mailing list...

Please help me figure out what the problem is!
