Binary compability questions

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hi,

It looks for me, that introduce of
VIDIOC_OVERLAY_OLD
VIDIOC_S_PARM_OLD
VIDIOC_S_CTRL_OLD
VIDIOC_G_AUDIO_OLD
VIDIOC_G_AUDOUT_OLD
breaks binary compatibility not v4l itself, but drivers (for example
saa7134). You must recompile program from sources (and first check if
there is not older videodev2.h) to get it work.
This is because these old ioctls are not implemented in newer drivers
and they are not implemented in v4l-compat too. You can't run old
binary with new driver.

Question: Is this correct ???? Should be implemented these old ioctl
in new drivers v4l2 ???
