Video4Linux with videofile as source

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hy,

I work at the moment with some other people to port a MS Windows image
detection software to linux. Unluckily we don't have enough linux
compatible cameras to work all at the same time. :-(

Is there a possibility to take a videofile as video4linux "input
device"? If yes, we could capture the analysis video and use it to
develop the video4linux application without the need for a camera.

I think there should be no difference if the videostream comes from USB
a videocard or my harddisk? Am I wrong with this?

Please give me some hints.

regards
Andreas
