Re: Pinnacle PCTV pro settings

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hi,

Thanks for the tips. My distribution doesn't seem to include scantv, but I
used motv's scanning facility, with all of the settings I could think of.
Still no luck. I've also checked that the input is from the 'television',
not composite. The ouput of xawtv -hwscan looks fine as far as I can tell.
As I see it, there are two problems that I don't know how to resolve:

1. How do I tell the card/software to use the PAL-I standard for the UK? I
read in other places on this list that I need to give tda9887 the pal=i
option (which I've done), but none of the software TV viewers (xawtv,
motv, kwintv) give me the option of setting the standard to PAL-I. Does
anyone know what the correct settings are for the UK? Are there other
options that I need to set in /etc/modules.conf?

2. It looks like I'm using the wrong tuner type, and maybe also the wrong
card type. For the card, is a 'PCTV Studio Pro' different from a 'PCTV
pro', and should I stick with type 39 (PCTV) as autodetected or type 52
(PCTV Studio Pro)? For the tuner, MT2032 is autodetected, but it looks
like that might be the wrong type (in dmesg: not a MT2032). How do I find
out what tuner to use? Also, it looks like I need to choose the standard
as well as the tuner for a number of them. Is this what I need to do to
get the card to work with PAL-I?

Thanks for the help,

Donald.
