a few questions about the SAA7134 chip and V4L2

I have two capture cards in my computer at the moment. One SAA7134 and an BT878 card.
I just got the SAA7134 based one and have a few questions about it.

When using the BT878 card in xawtv it interferes with anything that is playing in a media player like xine (big blue square). Using the SAA7134 based card it does not effect xine. Both of the cards appear to be using Xv. Is this something to do with the SAA7134 card using a V4L2 driver? Also the SAA713 card wont scale to anything higher than 756 x 576 (Full PAL) and is interlaced. Where as the BT878 card is uninterlaced and scales right up to fullscreen.

Can I make an application that will use both of the cards in Xv, from what I have seen the Xv extension (xv + v4l module) only picks up the first card?

I was also wondering whether either of the drivers support multiple cards in the one computer? (2 cards the same).

Thanks

Michael Russell
