(sorry, this is essentially a "me too" reply)

I have a WinfastTV2000 card in my own box.

(It [the bttv driver] works, but ever since I recently replaced my
old nvidia TNT card with a geforce4 I now seem to have some issues
with it... running xawtv gives me "v4l(2): open /dev/video0:
Cannot allocate memory" and "kernel: bttv: vmalloc_32(4259840)
failed" from klog. For the moment I'll leave this issue for
  another post. Meanwhile...)

This card also has a remote that I'd like to get working.

Is there a "generic" procedure that is needed to get remotes working
with these sorts of cards, or are specific drivers/configs required?
Is it done with the irda drivers, lm-sensors, i2c, bttv, or what?

Thanks for any pointers.
