Videologic Captivator Pro/PCI

I've been trying to get my Captivator Pro board (no tuner, Philips composite
camera) to work with V4L, with some difficulties.

I'm able to get video from the camera, but the video freezes up after a minute
or two at the most. I've had varying degrees of success setting the card to
type 0 (*** UNKNOWN/GENERIC ***), 4 (Intel Create and Share PCI/Smart Video
Recorder III), 32 (Intel Create and Share PCI/Smart Video Recorder III) and
57 (GrandTec 'Grand Video Capture' [BT848]).

Some last longer than others, but the end result is that I get some kind of
synchronization error and the picture freezes up on me. The biggest
difference that I'm noticing is that cards 4 and 32 don't seem to be loading
the tuner module, whereas most other card settings do, even though there's
not tuner.

Ending the application, be it GnomeMeeting, XawTV, or any other is the only
way to reset the line, but that's usually not an issue since the capture
doesn't freeze the system, just the picture.

Right now, my 2.4.20 kernel module options look like this:

<--- CODE BEGIN --->

# I2C
alias char-major-89     i2c-dev
options i2c-core        i2c_debug=1
options i2c-algo-bit    bit_test=1

# TV
alias char-major-81     videodev
alias char-major-81-0   bttv
options bttv            card=32 radio=0 pll=0
options tuner           type=4

<--- CODE END --->

I haven't been able to glean much information off of the mailing list, so I
wanted to know if anybody had the "definitive" modules.conf settings for this
card, or should I just sit on my hands until V4L2 or another alternative
makes it's way into the stable kernel?

Tim
