Gerd,

I tried with the new v4l2 + saa7134 modules (Dec 18), and it still has
the same problems described previously (xawtv+v4l2 in B/W, mplayer with
alternating green screen).

I recompiled xawtv 3.81 just to be safe.

The only difference is that xawtv + v4l1 can select the norm. However, the
display is blank (black screen) whether in overlay or grabdisplay mode.

mplayer still gives the invalid ioctl error when attempting to set the
norm (I assume that I don't have to recompile mplayer).
