	I'm facing similar problems with a Pinnacle PCTV.
	I have a tda9885 tuner, and I load the 0.7.100 bttv kernel drivers on a 
2.4.19 kernel with:
insmod tuner type=33
insmod bttv card=39
 and the image is crisp, but with no sound at all. (if I fine tune on xawtv, I 
can get sound, but then the image deteriorates)
	I've tried those patches on a 2.4.20-rc1 kernel, but it didn't help.
