Need Help getting Camera Setup

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

My co-worker and I are trying to get a surveillance camera setup to monitor
the door to the data center which we manage. We have an Osrey 1x0 capture
card, a Compaq Proliant Server running Redhad 7.2 with the 2.4.9-34 Kernel,
and xawtv-3.54. We've gone through the setup, and are able to get it to
run, and it all seems to work fine, except that all we can see is a black
screen. We tested the camera directly connected to a TV's video input, and
are able to see everything just fine. I get the fallowing message when
running xawtv, and am wondering if someone could shed some light on it.
Thanks.

# xawtv
This is xawtv-3.54, running on Linux/i686 (2.4.9-34)
Xlib: extension "XVideo" missing on display "localhost:10.0".
WARNING: remote display `localhost:10.0' not allowed, using `:10.0' instead
can't open x11 display :10.0
v4l-conf had some trouble, trying to continue anyway
WARNING: v4l and x11 disagree about the screen size
WARNING: Is v4l-conf installed correctly?
WARNING: v4l and x11 disagree about the color depth
WARNING: fbuf.depth=16, x11 depth=32
WARNING: Is v4l-conf installed correctly?
WARNING: overlay mode disabled

Even after all that it comes up and seems to be running, but with a black
screen.

Here's some of the config files we setup to get this to work:

Thanks again for any help you can provide.
