Re: lavrec kills BTTV audio

Ralf,

My system does that too. It probably occurs when lavrec sets the mixer when starting, and resets mixer and card when it stops.

Assuming it's the same problem, here are my workarounds: 1) Use the mixer to turn the playback sound back on while recording. It will turn it off when it starts up. If you use kmix, you can watch this. This won't affect the recording.

2) run "/usr/local/bin/v4lctl volume 85%" or "/usr/bin/v4lctl volume 85%" to turn the sound back on. (SBLive distorts at 100%)

3) remove and reinstall the modules to get the right audio channel back.

I've built the last two into a script.

Computer: K6-III/450, 512MB
TV: WinTV-GO (bttv 878)
Sound: SB128 (es1371)

Athalon 1500XP, 512MB
Pinnacle PCTV Pro (Box was for Miro)
SBLive 5.1

Hope this helps,
-James
