Hello,
I use FlyVideo2000 (saa7134) just half of the year.
I used bytesex drivers from 0.1.5 to 0.1.10 versions.
Generaly I have not time to watch tv - my wife has.
So, Xawtv is configured to play sound stereo. And shows it.
But some other applications still reported that "v4l reports mono".
Cause not always it is easy to hear it right now, I checked theese other
programs.
Yestarday finally I started xawtv and put on headphones - there is mono
sound.
The same for oss and alsa.
Under windows it plays stereo.
I think some is going bad about sound initialization.

Below is my modules.conf

# i2c
alias char-major-89    i2c-dev
options i2c-core    i2c_debug=1
options i2c-algo-bit    bit_test=0 bit_scan=0

# saa7134
alias char-major-81    videodev
alias char-major-81-0    saa7134
options v4l1-compat    debug=1
options saa7134        gbuffers=2 gbufsize=4096 audio_debug=1 mixer_nr=1
dsp_nr=1
options saa7134        card=3 tuner=37 vbi_nr=0 video_nr=0 oss_rate=48000
radio_nr=0 ts_nr=0
options    tuner    debug=1 pal=d #radio_range=22
options video-buf debug=1

Were can it be wrong?
Wieslaw
